first day of school for Emma

she's not too sure of herself this morning...not used to getting up early and getting dressed right away...(neither is mommy!)...so her little face is serious and not very enthusiastic.

she is almost the smallest and youngest in her class. most of the other kids are 4-ish, some even look like 5. i'm wondering if i did the right thing by enrolling her...but we'll wait and see how it goes.

even the playground didn't seem too much fun! she was a bit overwhelmed by it all.

dear little girl. am i pushing you too fast? just let me know, ok...school at this point is a luxury, not a necessity. ^)^

Hi Denie, Here in OZ we have 3yo pre-school for 2.5 hours once per week, 4-5 yo pre-school for 5 hours twice per week and minimum age to enrol in school 5 days/wk is 4 yrs 10mnths. Some are 4 going on 5 others 5 going on 6 in their 1st year. Rog is doing 3 yo this year which is mixed in the with the, 4-5yos. 4-5 pre sch. next and will be at school 5 going on 6. I feel with Rog that their is no rush but he really loves the pre-sch. environment and kids. He needs the stimulation because like Emma, he is very bright, but also very young. When she settles, she'll probably love it, they are such sponges for information and learning at 3.
